What does it mean to be a part of the Aiona Project and get involved?

We strive to have the largest collection of vaginal microbiome profiles in the Pacific. If you are female or identify as female, we need YOUR help!
2. Shape futures
The Aiona Project is a citizen science project meaning YOU have the power to help shape results. We want YOUR input on what our community should know about the vaginal microbiome in Hawaiʻi.
How to sign up/what the sign-up process looks like:
1. Fill out an online survey about lifestyle, contraception, sexual health, hygiene, your environment, stress, and nutrition. The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

2. Once you are done with the survey, you will be prompted to provide a mailing address.
3. We will send you a swab collection kit in the mail, with specific instructions on how to collect the sample.
4. You send your swab kit back in the mail.
5. You get the results of your UNIQUE vaginal microbiome profile and become part of a larger community, supporting knowledge about womenʻs health.
